Xingjin Wang

Petroleum Engineer

Xingjin has nearly 30 years’ experience in oil and gas exploration and production. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of New South Wales. More recently, he is an honorary professor at Centre for Coal Seam Gas at the University of Queensland. He has extensive experience in the Bowen and Surat basins. Xingjin was general manager (Engineering) of Arrow Energy in the period from 2007 to 2010. He is a member of SPE and PESA.

 

 

 

Alan Teimoori

Reservoir Engineer

Alan holds a PHD degree in petroleum engineering from the University of New South Wales. He is a reservoir engineering and field development planner with 20 years experience in domestic and international oil and gas fields. He was responsible for field development in the Surat and Bowen Basins when he worked for Santos as senior reservoir engineer.  Alan specializes in worked on reservoir evaluation, design for production, hydraulic fracturing, reserves estimation and productivity potential of conventional gas reservoirs.  Alan has worked for BG Group and Santos since 2007. He is now an associate of Austar Gas Pty Ltd.

 

Lan Nguyen

Geologist

Lan has over 25 years experience in petroleum exploration and production. A proven oil and gas finder, Lan is credited with the discovery and commercialisation of large stratigraphic play/trend in the Surat-Bowen Basins, Queensland, Australia and the successful introduction of nitrogen drilling into the Surat-Bowen Basins and underbalanced horizontal coiled tubing drilling into Australia.

Lan joined Mosaic Oil N.L., an Australian publicly listed petroleum exploration and production company, in late 1993 and in 2005 became its Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director. During his time with Mosaic Oil, he had been involved in managing all Mosaic’s exploration activities in Australasia, drilling and completion operations and reservoir/production engineering studies of producing assets in the Surat/Bowen Basin, Queensland and also other exploration projects onshore and offshore basins in Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. Since retiring from Mosaic Oil in mid-2009, Lan has provided integrated geoscience and engineering consultancy services to various companies in Australia, China and India primarily in unconventional petroleum. He is an associate of Austar Gas.

 

Paul Winchester

Production Engineer

Paul has broad experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering gained from 17 years with Shell worldwide in proleum development (and was head of Production Technology in Norway before resigning), 2 years as Field Production Manager in Central Australia with CSR Petroleum, and 2 years as Chief Petroleum Engineer with the Bureau of Mineral Resources (Canberra). Paul had therefore gained experience in all aspects of the petroleum producing business before starting his own consultancy (Winoil Pty Ltd) in 1989. Since then he has worked on many diverse projects around the world, mainly technical audits or field development feasibility and planning.

His speciality is production optimisation, field development, redevelopment, rehabilitation or abandonment, and technical audits, and considers himself the quintessential troubleshooter. Paul is an associate of Austar Gas.

 

Tim a. Moore

Geologist

Tim is an experienced petroleum geologist petroleum and Coal Seam Gas.  Most recently Tim was a senior geologist working for APLNG assigned by Sinopec. He was Executive team of Arrow Energy Ltd in Australia (from 2007 to 2010. Tim’s first role in Arrow Energy was as Vice President for Technical Services, advising, designing and implementing exploration and development programs in Bowen Basin and Surat Basin.

Tim received his BSc from the University of Maryland in 1981 and his MSc and PhD from the University of Kentucky in 1986 and 1990, respectively.

Tim is a member and past President and Vice-President of The Society for Organic Petrology (TSOP) as well as a member of the Geological Society of New Zealand, Royal Society of New Zealand, the International Committee for Coal and Organic Petrology (ICCP), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA).  Tim is an associate of Austar Gas.

 

Leon G. Hennessy

Drilling and Completion Engineer

Leon has over 15 years’ experience in the Drilling Industry. He was operation Managers in Mitchell Drilling and Lucas. He specializes in horizontal drilling and underbalance drilling for tight reservoir in the Bowen Basin and Surat Basin. Leon also has skills in torque & drag modeling, Hydraulics modeling including multiphase flows, equipment suitability (rig / circulating system / pipe / BHA / casing design etc. Leon is an associate of Austar Gas.
